(New Madrid, Mo) - Three earthquakes within an hour along the New Madrid Fault Line. According to officials with the United States Geological Survey, the first two quakes each measured 2.8 in magnitude. The third was a 2.7 magnitude.
The first struck at 11:18 am, the second followed at 11:29 am, and the third was 11:57 am. Officials pin pointed both the quakes in New Madrid County.
According to the USGS, there have been 11 earthquakes in the past seven days along the fault line in Southeast Missouri. The latest at 1:18 pm Monday afternoon at a magnitude of 1.8, which is too small to be felt by people.
