(Bonne Terre, MO) It's the first day of classes for the North County Schools after board members opted to start late over coronavirus concerns. The Superintendent of the district, Dr. Jeff Levy, says officials with the district had applied for, and were approved, for funds from the CARES Act. According to Levy the money will go towards helping protect students and employees as well as other technological needs.
According to Levy the district was awarded just under $411,000. Patrons of the district were surveyed and the result showed parents wanted the option for in person, as well as virtual learning and he says he's excited the district is able to provide both.
