(St. Francois County, MO) Patrons of Missouri's 117th District will have Republican Mike Henderson as their Representative for another term after he defeated his opponent in Tuesday's elections. Unofficial results show Henderson carried the election with around 75% of the vote compared to Democratic challenger Tony Dorsett's about 25%. Henderson says he's excited to able to continue the work of the people in Jefferson City.
In the race for the State Representative for the 115th district the unofficial results indicate Cyndi Bucheit Courtway wins the seat held by Elaine Gannon. Bucheit Courtway was challenged by Democrat Cynthia D. Nugent. The final unofficial vote tally was Bucheit Courtway with 10,706 votes to Nugent's 3,871. Bucheit Courtway says she decided to run because she felt a need to serve the community.
A contested race for St. Francois County Associate Commissioner District 2 gained a lot of attention during the lead up to the election. It featured the incumbent, Patrick Mullins, a Democrat, and the Mayor of Desloge, Republican David Kater. Kater unofficially wins the race. Kater says he wants to thank voters for putting their trust in him.
