(Iron Mountain Lake, MO) The police chief of Iron Mountain Lake, 51 year old John Washburn, will make his initial court appearance in St. Francois County Thursday on several felony charges after his recent arrest. Washburn is charged with several felonies after evidence was found missing from the Iron Mountain Lake Police Department's evidence locker and an alleged pursuit he was said to have been involved in. Washburn is charged with two count s of stealing a controlled substance meth manufacturing materials, two counts of tampering with physical evidence in a felony prosecution, stealing, possession of a controlled substance, and false impersonation of a police officer. If he is released on bond pre-trial monitoring is required including wearing a GPS monitor and being subjected to random drug testing. The instructions also include Washburn not possessing a firearm and not acting in any law enforcement capacity.
