(Farmington, MO.) Farmington officials will not put together a consolidated trash service after voting down the proposal at Monday night's city council meeting. The City Administrator of Farmington, Greg Beavers, says a large group of citizens attended the meeting speaking against the proposal.
If council members would have approved the measure, citizens would have voted on whether or not to have a single trash service provider, or what's called a "consolidated" trash service. Beaver's says there was a large crowd of around 50 or more voicing their opposition to the idea. In other business council members set the tax rate for Farmington at .0434 cents, a 10 percent decrease from the previous rate.
