(Desloge, MO.) The new Desloge Community Dog Park is now open following a ribbon cutting that saw residents and their pets try out the new park on a beautiful sun soaked afternoon. The City Administrator of Desloge, Dan Bryan, says when he began his job with the city he envisioned a Dog Park in town. Bryan adds his other thought was to build it with nothing but donated money. Bryan says that's when members of the community stepped up to help.
Bryan says they were able to save thousands of dollars on construction costs for some of the benches and other items by utilizing the work program through the Potosi Correctional Center. The Park features a pet and human drinking station, several exercise runs, and other playground like equipment for dogs. There are two sections to the park, one for large and another for smaller dogs. The Desloge Community Dog Park is located at the corner of East Walnut and South Wilson Streets in Desloge.
