(Bonne Terre, MO) National Fire Prevention Week is next week and it focuses on kitchen fires, one of the leading causes of residential fires in the country. The Chief of the Big River Bonne Terre Fire Department, David Pratte, says there are a few tips to help you if a kitchen fire starts.
Pratte adds it's a good idea to keep some baking soda on hand in your kitchen to throw on a fire. It will dampen the flames quickly. He also says never, ever use flour as it can explode. National Fire Prevention Week begins Monday.
