10 Thanksgiving Fatalities on Missouri Roads

(St. Francois County, MO) Troopers with the Missouri State HIghway Patrol are reporting 10 traffic fatalities over the Thanksgiving weekend in the state. The only pedestrian fatality of the 10 traffic related deaths included Cassaundra M. Parker, 40, of Dittmer, MO. Parker was killed when she was struck by a vehicle as she crossed Missouri Highway 141 at Fiedler Lane. Saline Valley Fire personnel pronounced Parker dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle that struck Parker was not injured in the crash. Reports also indicate there were no drownings and no fatal boat crashes during the period. Of all the reports from this past weekend Highway Patrol officials say there were 321 crashes investigated with 72 injuries and the 9 deaths of those riding in vehicles. There were 100 DWI arrests and 78 drug related arrests. This year’s Thanksgiving holiday counting period ran from 6 p.m. Wednesday, November 25, through 11:59 p.m. Sunday, November 29.
